Mercedes-Benz is a German car brand, 1926 through the merger of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft of Gottlieb Daimler and Benz & Cie. by Carl Benz was born. The vehicles include the brand together with the Smart and Maybach division Mercedes-Benz cars of Daimler AG.

Originally founded in 1890 sold the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft their vehicles are not yet under the name Mercedes. This brand name was only around the turn of the century, inspired by the businessman Emil Jellinek, starting in 1898 with Daimler vehicles involved.
