History

Ford was founded in 1903 with $ 28,000 contributed by twelve investors, including the partner who gave her name to the company, Henry Ford, which then had 40 years of age. In its early years, Ford produced a few cars per day at its factory on Mack Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. Groups of two or three men worked with each car using components manufactured in other companies. Gradually, the Ford Motor Company would continue to grow to be one of the largest and most profitable companies in the developed world, as well as one of the largest companies run by one family: the Ford family has kept control of the company for nearly 100 years. Ford was one of the companies that managed to survive the Great Depression of the 30’s.

In 1908, the Company Ford launched the Model T Ford, whose first unit was built at the Piquette Plant Manufacturing. The company had to move shortly after their production facilities to the Highland Park plant, larger than the previous one, to meet the demand of the new Model T. By 1913, the company had developed all the basic techniques of production line and mass production. Ford created the first mobile production line in the world this year, which reduced the time frame of 12 assembly and a half hours to 100 minutes.

The first model designed and conducted for Europe was the Ford HP AND 8
