Bill Gates entered the automotive market with a new engine combustion electromagnetic

Billionaire Bill Gates, it seems that now he saw the grain of ecological and economic engines (hotcakes these days), because along with 9 other people, embarked on a project of a combustion engine internal electromagnetic.

The new engine that raises Gates idea is to convert mechanical energy generated by the cyclical movement of the piston, into electrical energy, which if this fails also thought of two alternatives, one based on the design free piston, piston and the other opposed.

This is not a new electric motor, but the idea of Gates , dated 2007 , is to continue to use conventional fuel, which does not rule out the possibility of using with liquid fuel injectors (or plasma) and a carburetor. The operation is based on a set of pistons with some electromagnets on both ends of the cylinder.

An interesting idea of the Gates and its partners, but fail to see it in practice in a vehicle to see if it really serves. For now is just an idea lab, but you may Gates to translate this thinking seriously of their large capital in this project.

If so, I have no doubt that, at least, the engine will be interesting to the automotive industry. But not if it is useful and reliable as there is no evidence of any kind.
