Since this morning, the Spanish Road Association (AEC) has made available to all internet users a new project. This is the first online encyclopedia in Spanish on road infrastructure. This innovative project was developed by the ACS, an association which has for decades promoting road development in Spain , and already has at the time of its launch with over 5,000 records.
Among them are dozens technical articles, legislation, technological developments, glossary of specialized terms, historical references and ephemera, links, information industry companies and institutions, among others. The aim of Wikivia is the dissemination of knowledge and the latest technological developments in the Hispanic world road .
The Wikivia is organized around nine categories or sections that help the Internet user seeking information . This virtual platform has been launched with the support and funding from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, and the collaboration of Instituto Ibero-American Road (IVIA) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Wikivia is presented as a portal of free access. All Internet users who wish to collaborate in the project, either by editing articles, either improving or expanding existing ones, or raising questions, generating debate and sending suggestions through the pages created for this purpose. Wikivia is aimed at researchers and students, universities, consultants, businesses, associations and public administrations. But in addition, contains information of interest to any user or professional of road .
